Things to do whilst staying at Le Manoir

Be it that Les Adrets is a small typical French village, it does have a Tourist Office where the people speak excellent English. Here they can give you details on a range of things to do, a few ideas being:
  • White water rafting
  • A local tree climbing adventure playground (a bit like Go-Ape)
  • Caves with stalagmites
  • Water parks
  • Hiring cycles
  • Walking adventurers
  • Historic homes or other places to visit

Lake Cassian

Having a family of young children, one of our favourite pastimes is to go to Lake Cassian, often referred to as Lac de St Cassian. Here you can swim in the lake, rent canoes, kayaks and peddle boats. Prices are reasonable, normally about 10 euros per hour. For those of you who like fishing, the lake is well known for carp fishing.

There are various places to park at the lake which is only 7km from the villa, hence we would often spend the morning at home and then a few hours on the lake with a peddle boat, finishing off with an ice cream.

Golf

There are a number of local golf courses. For more information take a look at www.cannestouristinformation.co.uk/golf-in-cannes.

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo is an easy one hour drive just down the A8 motorway. With its boats, casinos, motor museum, restaurants and bars, this small principality is worthy of a visit. Visit www.visitmonaco.com for more details.

St Tropez

St Tropez was just a fishing village and colony of artists until the legendary beauty Brigitte Bardot visited St Tropez to film ‘And God Created Women’. Now the town is famous throughout the world and is known as the playground for the rich and famous.

St Tropez is very difficult to access by car. The locals have deliberately not changed the roads system to put off people driving, hence in the summer months the traffic can be very bad.

We find the best way to get there is by ferry from St. Raphael, Agay or Port Frejus. Visit www.bateauxsaintraphael.com for times and prices.

Cannes

Cannes is a beautiful town half an hour’s drive from the villa. You can either take the A8 motorway or drive to Mandelieu-la-Napoule and take the coast road. Either way, in the summer months, Cannes does get busy so allow an hour. For more information on what to do in Cannes, visit www.cannestouristinformation.co.uk.

Local beaches

The nearest beach is about 20 minutes’ drive away. You can either take the A8 motorway to J41 (about 12km’s away) or take the scenic route over the mountain.

There are numerous beaches stretching from Cannes all the way to Mandelieu-la-Napoule, to Theoule-Sur-Mer to Frejus.

Water Parks

For the children, a great day out is a local water park. Two local ones less than an hours drive away are as follows:

Please note, in the summer months these parks do get busy, we would recommend that you leave early to ensure you are able to park your car and get in.
